Dear Partners and Friends,

I would like to share some of the ADA’s Health Policy Institute compiled data regarding solo practitioners and DSO trends. Here are just a few highlights: Dentists affiliated with a DSO have increased by 6.4% from 2015 to 2023. There was a 1.1% increase from 2022 to 2023; today 13.8% of dentists are affiliated with a DSO. In 2023, 25% of new dentists (less than 10 years out of dental school) were affiliated with group practices with at least 10 locations, up from 24.2% in 2022. Dentists most likely to be affiliated with DSO’s are new dentists.

The conclusion from the below data is that solo dentists in practice with 10 or less locations still make up the majority of dental practice ownership today. We are proud to be the #1 lender in dental practice finance. Helping dentists realize their dream of practice ownership is what we do every day.
